The purpose of this work is to make the reader aware of what self-regulated learning consists of, as well as to expose different points of view of how it influences education in our country and of some problems that can be present for the reader. Make your own conclusions regarding whether self-regulated learning provides positive support for the education of Mexican youth. In the text we will find a brief analysis of the fields in which self-regulated learning is located, such as metacognition, motivation, behavior and the learning context, exposing the concepts of each intersection field in self-regulated learning; as well as several personal experiences that I will share later and some examples of regulated learning in education in Mexico. We can also find the differentiation of self-regulated learning and metacognition with definitions from various authors who have written books on this topic, such as Zimmerman, Pintrich and Martínez-Pons, psychologists who have studied self-regulated learning and who propose some models of this strategy.
