The Teaching Style of Mathematics in Japan

This article describes the style of teaching that teachers in elementary school in Japan regularly used to teach math classes is described. This methodology has an active and reflective nature that keeps students' thinking for substantial periods of time. "Anecdotes and photographs taken at various schools in Japan during the period of observation or research (about 2 years) are included in the document.
