The Availability of Life in the Field of Criminal Law: The Hunger Strike and Dignified Death

Internationally and nationally, each country has built a system within the criminal sphere to listen to and respond to the needs of persons deprived of their liberty; consequently, a set of minimum rules has been established for the treatment of prisoners, in the that requires that all detainees receive sufficient food for the maintenance of their health and strength, however, there are recurrent cases of hunger strikes as these have apparently been a means of communication and way of revealing their demands or claims, in these cases the state agencies have taken decisions regarding the physical and psychological integrity of the striker, taking the decision to proceed with a forced feeding by the medical service.
