The purpose of this text is to analyze the account of Abram's encounter with God contained in Genesis 15, specifically focused on the task of understanding / discovering how God's presence is shown to Abram through presentification. Presentification is how God reveals himself to whom he determines his voice - hence the prophet's character -before the people he has chosen to sign a pact with in exchange for giving Abram an heir and lands over which his flock dominates-. I use the discourse analysis -in the specific limitations of this text of being an exploratory study that combines theological and literary elements- as a method that helps to find cognitive patterns that produce meaning in the ideological framework of discourse.
