This article presents a descriptive – exploratory study based on a qualitative approach on the global citizenship orientation that a sample of 17 Mexican universities have, considering three different perspectives: global labor market, awareness and social responsibility as well as action and civic participation. Results and discussion reflect on the trends Mexican higher education has towards global citizenship, analyze the link between global citizenship and internationalization, and provide a methodological scope for future research in the respective field.
