Abstract

The world is undergoing changes in the spheres of human life (social, cultural, educational, economic and political), which have generated new ways of seeing and living reality. These changes have been generated due to globalization, which is characterized by free trade and transit of capital and information, demanding to increase productivity and quality of services. Currently, one of the areas that has had the greatest significant and transcendent changes in the life of the human being, has been the educational field, in which a new society has been created, whose main value is found in knowledge. This new society known as the knowledge society influences the processes of production and quality certification in education. This has implied that educational systems seek a process that certifies or validates the educational quality in their classrooms, with evaluation being the effective means to verify compliance with the objectives, goals, or purposes of education. The evaluation can be conceived from different perspectives or purposes, making it necessary to define and understand it from its conception, classification and typology. In this regard, it is essential to identify the economic, political and social factors that influence its methodological design. That is why this article describes the types of evaluations that exist, the application methods and in such a way describe the low level of performance in the results of PLANEA 2015, (mathematics, 6th grade of primary school) state of Veracruz.
