This paper questions the lack of legitimacy in the reforms to article 27 of the Constitution –occurring in 1992– which substantially modified the agrarian legal system in Mexico, by identifying that said changes were made by the country's elites without taking into account the people directly involved, such as peasants, indigenous people and ejidatarios, concluding that there is a democratic erosion with respect to agrarian matters in Mexico
