This work is a preview of the doctoral thesis in education entitled "Factors that affect the acquisition of English as a second language". Briefly, all the problems that affect the learning of English in Mexico are raised. From globalization to poor English language teaching. Likewise, the need to study the factors that affect the acquisition of English based on the following hypothesis: “The factors that affect learning are extrinsic and intrinsic to the student.
