The Legal Framework That Regulates Labor Equality in Mexico

Inequalities and gender disparities in the educational, political, economic and social areas negatively affect both people and their communities. The existence of legislative frameworks focused on issues related to gender equity represent a key aspect so that the achievement of gender equality is of decisive importance both for the respect of human rights, including cultural rights, and for the construction of societies open and inclusive. Actually, the legal framework in force in Mexico has allowed the incorporation of women into work activities that were considered exclusive of men; the creation of kinder gardens has been promoted; free maternity health services, among others, have been considerably expanded. Its importance is clear, if we take into account that these constitutional guidelines serve as a legal basis for normative production or for the reform of existing legal systems that regulate various aspects of equality in a more specific manner.
