The research process and its findings are a substantial input for knowledge generation as well as, from different fields of knowledge, understanding of contextd realities and solving problems for better human survival. If higher education is said to be socially responsible, a step towards the realization of this premise lies in the formation of professionals with reflective, critical, proactive, knowledge-generating and intervention skills, from the space of action that each professional competes. Hence, it is considered necessary to diagnose the training, knowledge and experiences of undergraduate students for research, in order to feed back the curriculum field and, therefore, the pedagogical practices of the higher level, as a fundamental pillar of transformation for the common good. A research project is proposed here, which is carried out at a public university in the south-southeast region of Mexico.
