Abstract

The paper analyzes the de facto historical aspects that have influenced the distinguished superior treatment of presidents in Mexico and the need, based on the Mexican Constitution and the nature of the republic, to address the president not as señor but rather as citizen, given that the former term is not equivalent to the  ̈mister ̈ used in English, but rather has an innate connotation of superiority based on the historical and cultural aspects of the use of such word.
