Disability includes deficits, limitations and restrictions in daily activities and affects 15% of the world population, in Mexico through population censuses, it is possible to know the prevalence of disability and the state of Veracruz, is one of the entities with the highest proportion of people with this condition. In the current bibliography there is no spatial analysis of the disability of the Veracruzana entity, considering the above, the objective of this work was to generate a choropleth map of the distribution of disability and an analysis by regions of the state. The methodological process involved obtaining the prevalence of disability by municipality in the state of Veracruz reported in the 2020 population and housing census. Subsequently, the values were grouped by percentiles, giving rise to three categories of prevalence: low, medium and high. Which were processed in the QGIS Desktop 3.2.0 Software whit GRASS to obtain the choropleth map, for the analysis by regions the use of the statistical package RStudio Version 8.17 and the one-way ANOVA test were used. The results include the state prevalence map, which shows that there is a heterogeneous distribution of the prevalence of disability and the analysis by region, which showed that Huasteca Alta, Huasteca Baja and Papaloapan have significantly higher prevalences (p <0.05). In conclusion, a prevalence map of the state of Veracruz is obtained and the regions of greatest interest due to the presence of disability are defined, the results can be used as a useful tool to target interventions related to mitigating the effects of disability and make evidence-based decisions.
