This article presents the context of analysis from which the study of a fundamental branch of criminal law: the one related to the economy, the market and the company that is called economic criminal law and whose study, in Mexico, is still quite limited. It starts from globalization and the so-called risk society to, later, delve into doctrinal discussions regarding the existence, or not, of a "new" criminal law or "postmodern criminal law" that moves away from the liberal principles of illustration. Finally, it opens an initial panorama of what should be included in this economic criminal law, which in Mexico (and especially in Veracruz) is practically non-existent. The methodology used has been basically systematic and documentary.Metrics
