Design of a construction system for capture and use of rainwater in a single-family home in Xalapa, Veracruz

This is the result of research carried out on one of the most important biotechnologies in architecture due to the current environmental situation: rainwater harvesting. The objetive was to desing a rainwater collection and use system to be installed in single-family homes in Xalapa, Veracruz. The research Project was developed with the hypothetical-deductive method through observation, hypotheses, deductions and verifications, with the recording and analisis of data, both on rainfall, as well as user needs, use of rainwater, materials, construction process and costs. The results showed monetary savings in homes and a very positive environmental impact.
