The parallel computing is not a new discipline but his current boom is due to the need to manipulate and analyze complex data sets in problems that require quick responses, reliable and real-time coupled with rapid advances in technology. Therefore, different companies, industry and science and technology centers require professionals or specialists in parallel computing, turning this into a teaching opportunity from the academy. So, this article discusses the importance of parallel computing and productive educational level, and proposes the formal inclusion of the discipline in the curricula of academic offerings concerning computation and/or specialization in the Mexico Federal Institutes of Technology, which is not currently considered.
